Our sales took off when we switched to Locavana, and bulk beef and pork shares are the biggest part of that. It runs the whole share process, deposit, cut sheet, and customer updates. And the platform costs less than what I was paying before.

Selling direct is the future of farming
Customers want to buy directly from farms. Farms need to cut out the middleman to remain competitive. But direct sales come with real work: orders, routes, weights, payments, and customers to manage.
We run our own local food delivery operation across Chicago and West Michigan. When existing software couldn't handle the reality of direct-to-consumer sales every week, we built the technology we needed for ourselves. Now the same system that runs our deliveries every day is available to farms nationwide.
Frequently asked questions
What makes Locavana different?
We use it in our own delivery business every day. When we need a new feature, we build it, and every farm on the platform gets it. We are operators who have run into the frustrations of the existing technology platforms, so ours is built around what a farm actually needs.
How fast can my store be live?
Send us your URL and we can have a demo of your store on our platform in less than 24 hours.
Do I have to give up my domain or my Google rankings?
No. Your store runs on your own domain. We move it for you and redirect every old page, so the rankings you have earned carry over.
How does selling by weight work?
Customers see the per-pound price and an estimate at the average weight. Their card is saved at checkout and charged at packing for the actual weight, to the cent, with the weight on the receipt. Selling by weight is optional but recommended to preserve margin.
What if I do not want to do local delivery?
You do not have to. Most farms benefit from taking preorders for pickup at the farmers market or the farm store. Others sell only beef and pork shares for pickup. What matters is that every customer lands in your system, so you have a way to communicate with them.
Does it handle CSAs and subscriptions?
Yes. CSA shares with pickup spots and skips, subscribe and save, and membership programs with member pricing, in the CSA & subscriptions add-on at $79 a month. Market cards come with every plan.
Does it handle beef and pork shares?
Yes. Bulk shares can be sold with or without a deposit. Customers pick their cuts on a cut sheet at checkout and get automated updates from deposit to pickup or delivery.
What does it cost?
Every farm starts on the base plan at $99 a month plus 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction, with no setup fee and no contract. Add-ons run $29 to $69 a month each, and everything together is $476 a month, less than the separate store, CSA, email, inventory, shipping, routing, register, accounting and farm software it replaces.
